The Egg is a climbing area in Colorado's Pike and San Isabel National Forests, within the South Park Ranger District, managed by the Forest Service. It sits among several named climbing spots, and the closest are Valley of The Chickens and Chicken Rock, each about a tenth of a mile away. The climbing here runs from about 5.4 to 5.11, with sport routes making up most of the 8 listed and a couple of trad routes. Sport climbers will find The Ocean at 5.9 and Aleve in Yourself at 5.10a, while trad climbers can try Pollos Hermanos at 5.8. The hardest route listed is Kevin's Celtic Kindness at 5.11. Summer is the most comfortable time to climb. A nearby weather station at Divide records typical July highs around 74°F with lows near 47°F, while January averages only about 33°F.
