Car Killer Buttress is a climbing area in the Gunnison Ranger District of the Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forests in Colorado, managed by the Forest Service. It sits among a cluster of climbing spots and campgrounds, so it works well as a base for a day or longer in the district. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from the nearby Taylor Park weather station, at a similar elevation, run to highs around 72°F in July with lows near 42°F, while winter highs stay in the 20s and 30s. Roadside Crag is about half a mile away, and Spring Creek Campground and the Spring Creek climbing area are both within a mile. Taylor Canyon, another climbing area, is about 1.7 miles off.
