The Beach is a climbing area on Bureau of Land Management land in the Gunnison Field Office, about 1.5 miles from the town of Gunnison in western Colorado. It sits within a cluster of other climbing, biking and skiing destinations. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Gunnison show July highs around 80°F with lows near 44°F, while winter highs stay in the 20s and lows drop to -6°F in January. Several other spots are within a short distance. Hartman Rocks is about half a mile away, and the Behind the Rocks and Free Fall mountain biking trails are within a quarter mile. For an overnight stay, Mesa RV Resort is about 2 miles off.
