Outlaw is a 10.9-mile out-and-back hike in Colorado's Pike and San Isabel National Forests, on the Comanche Ranger District. The trail climbs about 313 feet from a low point of 4,312 feet to a high of 4,513 feet, and the Forest Service manages the surrounding land. The trail is natural-surfaced and allows both horses and bikes, so it works for riders and pack animals as well as hikers. It is open year-round, and the most comfortable stretch runs from late spring into early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Kenton, Oklahoma, show May highs around 80°F and September highs around 84°F, with lows in the 50s. Summer is hotter, with July highs near 93°F. Nearby, Homestead lies about a mile away, and Arch Rock Spur 2 is about 1.1 miles off. Arch Rock is roughly 1.9 miles away, and Picture Canyon campground sits at a similar distance.
