Chatfield Campground is a campground within Chatfield State Park in Colorado, about 0.2 miles from the park's Group Campground. It sits in the park's own state park land unit, and the two campgrounds are close enough to make it easy to plan a stay that includes both. For comfortable weather, aim for late spring or early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Kassler show May highs around 69°F and September highs around 78°F, with July peaking near 87°F. Several trails start within about 2 miles, including the Plum Creek Trail and Plum Creek Nature Loop, both about 1.6 miles away, and the Old River Trail at about 1.7 miles. Paddlers can reach Plum Creek, roughly 4.8 miles off.
