Cedar Campground is a state park campground in Rifle Gap State Park in western Colorado, managed by State Fish and Wildlife. It sits within the park's own land, and two other campgrounds, Sage Campground and Lakeview Campground, are each about 0.3 miles away, making it easy to pair with a second site. For comfortable weather, late spring and early fall are the sweet spots. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Rifle show May highs around 72°F and September highs near 79°F, while July climbs to about 88°F and winter highs hover in the upper 30s. The surrounding area offers plenty to pair with a stay. Hogback Ridge Trail and Coulter Mesa State Trail are both about 3 miles away, and the Slab Routes climbing area is about 3.3 miles off. Paddlers can head to Rifle Creek, roughly 4.1 miles away.
