Liberty Cap

Liberty Cap is a summit of 7,076 feet in Yosemite National Park, within the Yosemite Wilderness, about 2.7 miles from Yosemite Valley. The land is managed by the National Park Service. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July and August highs around 75°F with lows near 60°F and only about one wet day a month. That station sits a few hundred feet lower than the summit, so temperatures up top run a little cooler. The John Muir Trail and Mist Trail both pass within half a mile. Climbers can head to the Southwest Face, about 0.9 miles away, and North Pines Campground is about 2 miles off.
