Squaw Cliff Area is a climbing area in California, about 1.8 miles from the town of Preston. It is a small, compact spot with only a few routes, so it works well as a short stop for climbers already in the area. The climbing here is sport, with two routes at the 5.12a and 5.12b levels. One of them, "Don't Call Me Squaw," is the hardest of the two. There is also a boulder problem, which adds a different style to the outing. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from the nearby Cloverdale weather station show May highs around 82°F and October highs around 81°F, while July and August average in the low 90s. The closest neighbor is The Untamed Rocks, a climbing area about 3.9 miles away. Pieta Creek, a canoeing spot, is about 3.5 miles off. For hiking, the Preserve Trail and Traverse Trail are both about 4.8 miles away.
