The Shooting Gallery is a climbing area in the Mountaintop Ranger District of San Bernardino National Forest in California, managed by the Forest Service. It sits within the forest's ranger district boundaries. Summer is the most comfortable time to climb here. Typical averages from the nearby Big Bear Lake weather station run from highs around 75°F in June to about 80°F in July, with lows near 50°F. That station sits about 450 feet lower than the climbing area, so temperatures at the crag run a little cooler. Tanglewood Slab and Alpine Rock are both climbing areas within a mile of the Shooting Gallery. Tanglewood Group Camp is about 1.5 miles away, and the Cactus Flat Boundary hike is roughly 2.7 miles off.
