Roadside Area is a bouldering area in the White Mountain Ranger District of Inyo National Forest in California, managed by the Forest Service. It sits among two other climbing areas, Roadside Boulder and Cave Boulder, both about 0.1 mile away, which makes it easy to pair with those for a full day of bouldering. The climbing here is all bouldering, with three routes spread across the V1 to V5 range. Problem A is the easiest at V1, Slots is V3, and Marsha's Scoop (AKA Marsha's Nipple) is the hardest at V5. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from the Huntington Lake weather station, about 36 miles away, show July and August highs around 74°F with lows near 49°F and only one or two wet days a month. Winter is much colder, with January highs around 43°F and lows near 24°F. For a longer outing, Mount Tom and the Egypt hike are both about 2.9 miles away, and Bitterbrush Campground is about 3 miles off.
