Potter's Point is a sport climbing area in Rattlesnake Canyon Park, part of the Santa Barbara Ranger District of Los Padres National Forest in California. The land is managed as city land, and the area sits within the park's boundaries. The climbing here is all sport, with nine routes spread across a range from 5.7+ to 5.13a. The most common grade is 5.10b, and the hardest route is Omega Glory at 5.13a. Several of the routes were first climbed by Meade and Edwards in 1995, including Operation Crumb Weasel (5.7+), Explosive Meatloaf (5.9) and Beefmaster 3000 (5.10a). Caveman (5.11+) was first climbed by FTR Pat Holt, Warren Gibbs and Bob Haas in 1987. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station run from highs around 71°F in April to 78°F in October, while July and August average highs in the mid-90s. That station sits about 1,400 feet lower than the park, so temperatures at Potter's Point run cooler. Morning Glory and Jacked and Tan are both climbing areas about 0.4 miles away. The Tunnel Connector and Rock Garden Trail are hikes about half a mile off.
