The Pit is a climbing area in the Mountaintop Ranger District of San Bernardino National Forest in California, managed by the Forest Service. It sits among a cluster of climbing spots, with Pistol Whipped Wall and Thunderbird Wall each about 0.1 mile away. The area has seven routes, five of them sport and two trad, with grades ranging from 5.5 to 5.12b. Sunkissed is the easiest at 5.5, and Everclear is the hardest at 5.12b. Heatseeker and Simple Lesson are both around 5.10, and Blister and the son is 5.11a. Summer is the warmest stretch.
