Lost Horse Bouldering is a bouldering area in Joshua Tree National Park in California, managed by the National Park Service. It sits among a cluster of other climbing areas, with Lloyd's Rock, Atlantis Wall - Left and Minotaur Wall all about 0.1 mile away. The boulders here are the main draw, and the area is a compact, close-together set of problems rather than a long route. The bouldering is rated from V0 to V4, with Lost Horse Mantle at the top end. The most common grades are V0 and V1, and the area is best suited to climbers who want to work on a range of boulders in one outing. The closest route is Big Bud at V0, and the hardest is Lost Horse Mantle at V4. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Yucca Valley show April highs around 73°F and October highs around 80°F, while July and August average about 96°F. That station sits roughly 870 feet lower than the boulders, so temperatures on the rock run cooler. A fee is charged for park use. The closest hike is Cow Rock, about 0.4 mile away, and Quail Springs Historic Trail is about 0.6 mile off. For an overnight stay, Sheep Pass Group campground is about 3.7 miles away.
