Footsteps Rock is a climbing area in California, set within Redwood National Park and Del Norte Coast Redwoods State Park. The land is managed by State Park and Recreation, and the area sits at the edge of the park's boundary, with several other climbing spots right next door. The climbing here is sport and trad, with three routes in total. Two are sport routes, Bolt 45 at 5.10d and Drilling Me Softly at 5.11-, and one is the trad route Two Zigzags at 5.11d. The grades put the area in the 5.10 to 5.11 range, so it works for climbers looking for a moderate to challenging outing. Summer and early fall are the driest and mildest stretch. Typical averages from the nearby Klamath weather station show July and August highs around 66°F with only about two wet days a month, while winter brings highs in the mid-50s and rain on 16 to 18 days a month. The South Face and North Face climbing areas are each about 0.1 mile away, and the California Coastal Trail passes within a mile. Turwar Creek, a paddling spot, is about 7.5 miles off.
