The Firestones is a bouldering area in the American River Ranger District of Tahoe National Forest in California, about 1.6 miles from the Lake Spaulding weather station. Two climbing areas sit right beside it, Upper Oasis and Liam Boulder, both about 0.1 mile away. The climbing here is all bouldering, and the routes are rated on the V scale from V0-1 to V2-3. Two of them are listed as V0-1, with one marked as Unknown #1. The most comfortable months for a visit are late spring through early fall. Typical averages from the Lake Spaulding station show June highs around 75°F and September highs around 76°F, with July and August peaking near 82°F. The station sits about 470 feet lower than the Firestones, so temperatures up high run a little cooler. Nearby, the Sierra Discovery Trail and Pierce Creek Campground are both about 2.9 miles away. Indian Springs Campground is a similar distance.
