The Broken Boulder is a bouldering area in Joshua Tree National Park in California, managed by the National Park Service. It sits among a cluster of climbing spots, with AFPA Rock about 0.1 mile away and Trashcan Boulders about 0.2 mile away. The area is a compact, close-together set of boulders rather than a long route, and it works well as a short stop for climbers already exploring the park's bouldering. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Yucca Valley show April highs around 73°F and October highs around 80°F, while July and August average about 96°F. That station sits roughly 750 feet lower than the boulders, so temperatures on the rock run a little cooler. The climbing here is all bouldering, with 10 routes ranging from V0- to V5. The Church of the Jack Lord is the easiest at V0-, and Bubblebutt is the hardest at V4. The Trashcan Rock East Face and West Face areas are also within about 0.2 mile.
