Ribbon Falls Amphitheater is a climbing area in Yosemite National Park, within the Yosemite Wilderness, on land managed by the National Park Service. It sits in the backcountry of the park, far from the main visitor centers. A fee is charged for access. Plan for it before you go. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 70°F and October highs around 71°F, while July and August average highs near 89°F. That station sits well below the amphitheater, so temperatures up here run cooler. The closest climbing is Southwest Face and Yosemite Valley Bouldering, both about 0.6 miles away. Rockslides is a hike 0.7 miles off, and Bridalveil Fall Trail is about 1.2 miles away.
