Sundance is a short, easy mountain biking ride in California, about 2.6 miles from the town of Lakeview. The route is an out-and-back that gains about 233 feet from its low point of 6,926 feet to a high of 7,050 feet. The climb is short, with the steepest stretch at about 14% grade near the start, and the whole trip fits into under a mile. Summer is the most comfortable time to ride. Typical July averages from a nearby weather station run to highs around 80°F and lows near 37°F, and September cools to about 73°F by day. That station sits roughly 700 feet lower than the high point, so expect temperatures up top to run a little cooler. True Grit, another mountain biking spot, is just 0.1 mile away, and the Prosser Hill climbing area is about 0.3 mile off. South Euer Valley Road offers more biking at 0.4 mile. For an overnight stay, Lakeside campground is about 5.2 miles away.
