Sawmill Road is a short, easy mountain biking route in California's Tahoe National Forest, within the Truckee Ranger District and on Waddle Ranch. The ride is an out-and-back of about 0.22 miles, with a total climb of 35 feet from a starting point near 5,850 feet to a high point of 5,852 feet. The route is flat, with the steepest stretch at about 0.05 miles in, and it is rated easy. Summer is the most comfortable time to ride. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Truckee-Tahoe run to highs around 76°F in June and 85°F in July, while winter highs sit in the low 40s. Elizabethtown Meadows Trail is about 0.7 miles away and East Martis Creek Trail about a mile off. Climbers can head to "Green Acres Project" Boulder, roughly 1.9 miles away, and paddlers to Martis Creek, about 2.6 miles away.
