Flagpole Point is a mountain biking route in California's Stanislaus National Forest, within the Calaveras Ranger District. The Forest Service manages the land, and the climb is an out-and-back of about 3.1 miles, with a total elevation gain of 279 feet from a low point of 7,766 feet to a high of 7,935 feet. The route is rated hard. Summer is the most comfortable time to ride. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Dagget Pass, Nevada, show July highs around 75°F with lows near 49°F and only about one or two wet days a month. That station sits roughly 600 feet lower than the route's high point, so temperatures on the summit run cooler. The closest neighbors are the Mctc: 7N11 to 17E27 hike and Bear Trap Basin, both about 1.2 miles away. Climbers can head to Hell's Kitchen, about 2.6 miles off, and Big Meadow Campground offers camping about 2.7 miles away.
