Unal Interpretive is a moderate hike of about 4.7 miles on an out-and-back route in California's Kern River Ranger District of Sequoia National Forest. It sits within Greenhorn Mountain Park, which is managed as county land, and the trip climbs from about 6,125 feet to roughly 6,837 feet, a total gain of 721 feet. The trail has a natural surface, and bikes are allowed. The open season runs from about April 15 through December 31, so plan your visit within that window. Two other trails start close by: the Sand Shed Trail is about 0.1 mile away and the Dead End Trail about 0.3 mile away. For an overnight stay, Cedar Creek campground is about 1.6 miles off, and Live Oak South is about 5.9 miles away.
