Twin Lakes Loop is an easy, out-and-back hike of about 2.5 miles in the Kaiser Wilderness, part of the High Sierra Ranger District of Sierra National Forest in California. The trail is managed by the Forest Service and runs on natural surface, and it is not accessible. The route gains about 160 feet in elevation, from a low point of roughly 8,490 feet to a high of about 8,650 feet. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from the nearby Huntington Lake weather station show July and August highs around 74°F with lows near 49°F and only one or two wet days a month. That station sits well below the trail, so temperatures on the loop run cooler. The hike is open year-round. George Lake is about half a mile away and Idaho Lake about 0.8 miles. Badger Flats Group campground is about 2.5 miles off, and Sample Meadow is about 2.6 miles away.
