Musser Hill is a moderate hike of about 3 miles in the Weaverville Ranger District of Shasta-Trinity National Forest in northern California, managed by the Forest Service. The trail is an out-and-back with a one-way climb of about 360 feet, from a low point of roughly 2,530 feet to a high of about 2,905 feet. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Weaverville show May highs around 77°F and September highs around 88°F, while July and August average in the mid-90s. That station sits well below the trail, so temperatures on the hill run cooler. The trail is on natural surface and allows both horses and bikes. Ware Ditch Trail and Day Ranch Trail start within a third of a mile, and East Weaver Campground is about half a mile away. Rush Creek, a canoeing spot, is about 2.6 miles off.
