Lower Honeymoon Lake is a 1.6-mile out-and-back hike in the John Muir Wilderness, part of the High Sierra Ranger District of Sierra National Forest in California. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is rated hard, with a one-way climb of about 690 feet from a low point of 9,718 feet to a high of 10,426 feet. The trail is natural-surface and not accessible. Bikes are not allowed. The most comfortable time to go is typically late summer into early fall. A nearby weather station records typical averages of about 70°F in September and 60°F in October, with July and August in the low 80s. Golden Trout Lake Trail lies about 0.9 miles away, and French Canyon is about a mile off. Piute Creek, a paddling spot, is also about a mile away. For an overnight base, North Lake Campground is roughly 8 miles from the trail.
