The trail rises from about 4,500 feet to about 5,066 feet, a climb of 702 feet, and is rated moderate. The Forest Service manages the land. The route is a natural-surface trail that starts and ends at the same point, with the high point at about 5,066 feet. It makes a straightforward day in the wilderness, and the surrounding area offers more to explore. Bowerman Peak lies about 3 miles away, and the Knownothing hike is about 3.7 miles off.
