Eagle Creek is a hard 8-mile out-and-back hike in the Trinity Alps Wilderness, part of the Big Bar Ranger District of Shasta-Trinity National Forest in California. The trail climbs from a low point of 2,345 feet to a high of 3,822 feet, with an elevation gain of 1,730 feet. The route is on natural surface, and horses are allowed. Bikes are not. The Forest Service manages the land. For timing, late spring and early fall are the most comfortable. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Cecilville put May highs around 75°F and October highs around 70°F, while July and August average in the mid-90s. Slide Creek, a canoeing spot, lies just under a mile away, and the Emigrant Creek and Virgin Creek Trail hikes are both within about 2 miles. Denny Campground, about 9 miles off, is the closest place to camp.
