Cabin Creek Loop Winter is a 6.5-mile moderate hike in the Truckee Ranger District of Tahoe National Forest, managed by the Forest Service. It starts at about 6,270 feet and reaches about 7,380 feet, with a total gain of 1,434 feet and a loss of roughly 1,367 feet on the way back. The steepest stretch comes at about 5.2 miles, with a grade of 22%. For comfortable weather, late spring and early fall are the best bets.
