Stoney Creek Campground (Cg-G) is a Forest Service site in the Weaverville Ranger District of Shasta-Trinity National Forest, California. It sits 14 miles north of Weaverville along Hwy 3, on Stoney Creek, and is adjacent to the Stoney Creek Swim Area. The site is set up for group camping, with the group camp area and adjacent campsites able to hold up to 50 people. Facilities include a paved parking lot with spaces for cars and parking for 1-3 motor homes. The site has a flush restroom, drinking water, a group pedestal grill, a fireplace, several tables and bear proof food lockers. There are no spurs, so this is a tent camping area. A fee is charged for recreation. For comfortable weather, late spring and early fall are the sweet spots. Typical averages from the nearby Weaverville weather station run to highs around 77°F in May and 75°F in October, while July and August highs average in the mid-90s. Stoney Group Shasta-Trinity is just 0.1 mile away, and Stoney Point Cg-F and Fawn are both under a mile off. Trinity Lakeshore is a hike about 0.6 mile from the site.
