Robinson Flat is a Forest Service campground in the American River Ranger District of Tahoe National Forest in California. It sits in the high country, and the nearest town is Tahoe City, about 20 miles away. The site has vault toilets, and no fees are required to use it. That makes it a simple base for a day or a longer stay in the area. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Tahoe City show July highs around 78°F with lows near 46°F and only about one wet day in the month. Winter is cold and snowy, with highs around 40°F and several snow days a month from December through February. Several trails start right at the campground. The Robinson Flat Meadow Loop and the Duncan Trail are both about 0.1 mile away, and Little Bald Mountain is under a mile off. For more time on the water, Duncan Creek offers canoeing about 3 miles away.
