Palisade Group Campground is a Forest Service group camp in the White Mountain Ranger District of Inyo National Forest in California. It sits about 17 miles from Mammoth Lakes, and the nearest town is Mammoth Lakes. The site was once a small family campground. It has since been converted into an overflow group camp for smaller groups of under 25 people who can't get a reservation at the Rock Creek Lake Group site. It's not as scenic as Rock Creek, but it works well for large family or small organizational gatherings. Vault toilets are the only facility on site. A fee is charged for use. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Mammoth Lakes show July highs around 78°F with lows near 49°F. That station sits about 1,000 feet lower than the campground, so temperatures here run cooler. The Upper Rock Creek Canyon Trail and the Pyramid Wall climbing area are both about 0.2 miles away. East Fork Campground is about half a mile off, and the East Fork Ski Loop mountain biking route is about 0.5 miles away.
