Lakeside is a Forest Service campground in the Truckee Ranger District of Tahoe National Forest in California, about a tenth of a mile from the Lakeside (Truckee) campground. The site has vault toilets, and a fee is charged for stays. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Truckee show July and August highs around 84°F with lows near 40°F and only about two wet days a month. Winter brings highs in the low 40s and regular snow days from December through February. Several other spots sit close by. The Prosser Family campground and the Donner Camp hike are each about 0.6 to 0.7 miles away, and the Prosser Reservoir - Water Recreation area is under a mile off. Climbers can find the Tahoe-Truckee Sanitation Agency Area about 3.8 miles away.
