Hume Lake Campground sits in the Hume Lake Ranger District of Sequoia National Forest in California, just a few minutes' walk from the shore of Hume Lake. It has 74 campsites, all available by reservation. The lake suits fishing and non-motorized water sports. Within about half a mile on foot from most sites you'll find groceries, a public phone, boat rentals and other concessions, including gasoline. Summer is the most comfortable time to camp. Typical July averages from the Grant Grove weather station, about 5 miles away, run near 79°F for highs and 52°F for lows, with very few wet days. The campground charges a fee and has flush toilets. Like all developed campgrounds on the forest, it is run under a concessionaire permit by Rocky Mountain Recreation (RMR). You can reach RMR at rockymountainrec.com, at its home office at (661) 702-1420, or at its Lake Isabella office at 760-376-1269. Hume Lake itself is 0.3 miles away. Aspen Hollow campground is 0.9 miles off, the Little Brown Church Trail is 1.3 miles away, and the Buck Rock climbing area is about 4.7 miles out.
