Fresno Dome is a Forest Service campground in the Bass Lake Ranger District of Sierra National Forest in California, about 6 miles from the entrance to Yosemite National Park. The land is managed by the Forest Service, and the site has vault toilets. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at So Entrance Yosemite National Park show July and August highs around 80°F with lows near 50°F and only about one wet day a month. That station sits roughly 1,400 feet lower than the dome, so expect cooler temperatures at the camp. Climbers have two areas within about half a mile: Main Wall and J. Hawk Dome. Kelty Meadow campground is about a mile away, and the Sky Trail starts about 1.5 miles off.
