Alpine View Campground is a 54-unit family campground in the Weaverville Ranger District of Shasta-Trinity National Forest, within the Whiskeytown Shasta-Trinity National Recreation Area. It sits about 25 miles north of Weaverville and 8 miles south of Trinity Center, 2 miles off Hwy 3 on Guy Covington Drive. The Forest Service manages the land. The campground is set up for easy access, with paved roads, spurs and social areas. Each campsite has a table and fireplace, and some have bear-proof food lockers. Three restrooms are accessible, and several campsites are wheelchair accessible. The Bowerman boat ramp is just a quarter mile away, which makes the site a draw for boaters. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 77°F and October highs around 76°F, while July and August average in the mid-90s. Nearby, Alpine View Campground is about 0.1 mile away, and Hayward Flat is about 0.9 mile away.
