Stairway 2, also known as Puerco Beach, is a public ocean beach in California within Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area, about 0.8 miles from Pepperdine University. There is no fee to visit. Late summer into early fall is the warmest stretch, with typical highs around 70°F and lows near 62°F in August and September, and rain is rare from June through September, based on typical averages from a nearby weather station. Winter stays mild, with highs in the low 60s and a handful of wet days each month. Corral Canyon Trail and De Bell Ranch Trail are the closest hikes, at about 1.2 and 1.3 miles away. Climbers can head to Lower Boulders, roughly 2.8 miles off, and paddlers to Malibu Creek, about 3.8 miles away.
