Rockaway Beach (Old County Road)

Rockaway Beach (Old County Road) is a public ocean beach on the California coast, about a mile from the center of Pacifica. It's a simple stop with restrooms and accessible access, and there is no fee to visit. Swimming is not allowed here, so plan on the beach for walking and time on the sand rather than getting in the water. Late summer into early fall is the mildest, driest stretch. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show highs around 71 to 72°F in August and September, with only a day or two of rain in those months. The beach makes an easy base for more time outdoors. The Pacifica Headlands climbing area is just 0.3 miles away and the Bluff Trail is 0.6 miles off. Within about a mile you can reach the Coastal Trail and the Old Mori Road mountain biking route.
