Malibu Road East Stairway

Malibu Road East Stairway is a public ocean beach in California, inside Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area and about a mile from Pepperdine University. The beach offers accessible access, and there is no fee to visit. Late summer and early fall bring the warmest, driest weather. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Santa Monica Pier show August and September highs around 70°F with almost no rainy days, while winter highs sit in the low 60s with more frequent rain. Dogs are not allowed on the beach, so plan to leave pets at home. The surrounding mountains offer plenty to pair with a beach day. De Bell Ranch Trail and Corral Canyon Trail are both about 2 miles away, the Malibu Tunnel Boulders climbing area is under 3 miles off, and Malibu Creek, about 4 miles away, is a paddling option.
