Cove Beach (Año Nuevo State Park)
About
Cove Beach is a public ocean beach in Año Nuevo State Park on the California coast, about 9 miles from the town of Davenport. There is no fee to visit, and dogs are not allowed on the beach. For the most comfortable conditions, late spring and early fall work well: typical averages from a nearby weather station at Ben Lomond show May highs around 80°F with about four wet days, and October highs near 83°F. That station sits inland, so temperatures right at the shore may differ. The Año Nuevo Point Trail starts about a mile away, and the Westridge Trail is close by as well. For a longer outing, the Skyline To The Sea Trail lies under 2 miles off, and paddlers can reach Scott Creek about 4 miles from the beach.
