The Roof is a bouldering area in Arkansas, about 3.5 miles from the town of Almond. It sits among a cluster of climbing areas, with Natural Disaster Area, Never Never Land and Boulder field all within a tenth of a mile. For a longer outing, Jamestown Crag lies about 0.2 miles away. The climbing here is all bouldering, and the routes range from V3 to V6-7, with five in total. The hardest is Cruisin' for a Bruisin' at V6-7, and the easiest is Life or Mortal Wounding at V3. Inverse Tangent and Life or Death are also V3 and V4. Atypical Hipster, at V5-6, is the middle ground. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Batesville run to highs around 68°F in April and 70°F in October, with July and August peaking near 88°F. The station sits about 240 feet lower than the area, so temperatures on the rock may run slightly cooler.
