Road Area is a climbing area in the Globe Ranger District of Tonto National Forest in Arizona, managed by the Forest Service. It sits within the road network that cuts through this corner of the forest, and several climbing areas cluster right along it. Spring and fall bring the most comfortable conditions. Typical averages from the nearby Superior weather station show April highs around 78°F and October highs around 84°F, while July and August climb to about 97°F and the station sits roughly 1,100 feet lower than the road area. That station runs warmer than the climbing area, so expect cooler temperatures up high. The closest climbing areas are Warm-up, Tetons and Oak Flat, all about a tenth of a mile away. For hiking, the Legends of Superior Trail is about 2 miles off, and Arnett Canyon Trail #218 is about 5 miles away.
