The Maze is a bouldering area in the Globe Ranger District of Tonto National Forest in Arizona, managed by the Forest Service. It sits among a cluster of other climbing spots, with Hidden World South, Hidden World North and Wash Boulders all about 0.1 mile away. The climbing here is all bouldering, with eight routes spread across the area. The grades run from V0 to V9-10, and the hardest is Sharma Traverse, a V9-10 boulder first ascended by Chris Sharma. The routes are listed as RJG #178, RJG #174, RJG #180 and others, with Treefrog Right at V4. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from the nearby Superior weather station show March highs around 72°F and November highs around 72°F, while July highs reach about 99°F. That station sits roughly 1,200 feet lower than the Maze, so temperatures at the boulders run cooler. For a change from the rocks, the Legends of Superior Trail is about 2 miles away, and the Arnett Canyon Trail #218, Telegraph Canyon Trail and High Trail are all within about 6 miles.
