Fair Oaks Boulders is a bouldering area in the Chino Valley Ranger District of Prescott National Forest in Arizona, managed by the Forest Service. It sits among the boulders and rock faces of the district, and the closest town is Chino Valley, about 12 miles away. The climbing here is all bouldering, with five routes spread across the boulders. The grades run from V2 to V6, with the median at V4. The routes include Tall Rift (V2), Unhinged (V3), Two Black Aretes (V4), Tall Face (V5) and Ricochet (V6). The area is a compact cluster of boulders rather than a long route, so a single visit can cover several problems. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from the nearby Chino Valley weather station show May highs around 80°F and October highs around 76°F, while July and August average in the low 90s. Other outdoor spots are close by. The Stringfield and Lost Shoe hikes are both within about 4 miles, and the Dennys and Almosta mountain biking trails are just under 5 miles away.
