Treetop Trail is a short, easy out-and-back hike in Oak Mountain State Park in Alabama, managed by State Park and Recreation. The trail is about 0.6 miles long, with a total elevation gain of 288 feet, and it reaches a high point of 677 feet. The climb is gentle, with the steepest stretch at about 0.2 miles in, where the grade reaches 14 percent. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Helena show October highs around 76°F with lows near 52°F, and April is similar at about 76°F by day and 51°F at night. Midsummer highs typically reach the low 90s. The hike takes about half an hour, and the trail is close to several other routes.
