Oak Park is a short, easy out-and-back hike of about a mile, set inside Monte Sano Nature Preserve in Alabama, which is managed by a non-governmental organization. The trail rises from about 843 feet to 852 feet, with a climb of about 135 feet, and the steepest section comes roughly halfway through at about 12%. The most comfortable months for a visit are typically October and April, when typical averages from a nearby weather station run around 74°F and 71°F. September is also mild, with highs near 84°F and the fewest wet days of the year. Buzzard's Roost Trail lies just 0.2 miles away, and Old Railroad Bed Trail and Wagon Trail are each about 0.6 miles off.
