Green Trail is a 2.1-mile out-and-back hike in Alabama, crossing the boundary between Little River Canyon National Preserve and DeSoto State Park. The trail rises from 1,439 feet to 1,536 feet, with a total elevation gain of 156 feet, and the steepest stretch comes within the first 0.14 miles at about 12%. The route is rated moderate, and the land is managed by State Park and Recreation. The trail sits within the preserve's boundaries and the state park's, so it works as a short outing for anyone already exploring either unit. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from the nearby Valley Head weather station show October highs around 72°F with lows near 48°F, and April highs around 70°F. That station sits about 415 feet lower than the trail's high point, so temperatures on the trail run a little cooler. The Desoto Scout Trail starts just 0.1 mile away, and the Yellow/DeSoto Scout Trail and Red Trail are within a third of a mile. Winter Wall, a climbing area, is about 2.2 miles off.
