Driskell Trail is a short, easy hike in northern Alabama, about 0.6 miles from the town of Chase. The trail is an out-and-back route of about 1.7 miles, with a total climb of 129 feet and a high point of 825 feet. The steepest stretch comes at about 0.6 miles in, with a grade of about 4 percent. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Huntsville show October highs around 76°F with lows near 52°F, and April highs around 75°F. July is the hottest month, with typical highs near 92°F. Horses are allowed on the trail.
