About Independence Lake

Independence Lake is a former ski area in California, now abandoned. The site sits at high elevation in the Sierra region and once served as a winter destination for skiers and snowboarders. Today, the area remains largely undeveloped and inaccessible to the public as a functioning ski resort. Visiting the former site is not practical; the lifts and facilities are no longer operational, and there is no infrastructure to support winter sports or recreation.
