Walk the Trails and Tour the Mission Grounds

Walk the grounds and stand where history happened. Spot wildlife flitting from tree to tree, hiding in the grass, or sunning on the trail. Reflect while surrounded by an expansive view of the Walla Walla Valley. Groups can tour the grounds on their own or with a ranger. The site includes one mile of paved trails and a short stretch of unimproved trail along the historic Oregon Trail. Picnic at Whitman Mission

Enjoy a picnic at the Whitman Mission picnic shelter. The picnic shelter is available whenever the park grounds are open unless otherwise noted. Please refrain from picnicking outside of the picnic area.

The site can be reached from US Highway 12, 8 miles west of Walla Walla, Wa. Airports are located in Walla Walla (11 miles east of park), Pasco (43 miles west), and Pendleton, Oregon (46 miles south).
