Whitewater Mountains

The Whitewater Mountains are a rugged and remote mountain range located in eastern New Mexico. Rising from the surrounding high desert, the range is characterized by steep, rocky slopes, deep canyons, and scattered stands of ponderosa pine and juniper. The terrain is challenging, with numerous ridges, cliffs, and talus fields. Elevations range from around 6,000 feet in the foothills to over 8,500 feet on the highest peaks. The climate is semi-arid, with hot summers and cold, snowy winters.
