Volcan Mountains

The Volcan Mountains are a small, rugged mountain range located in the eastern part of San Diego County, California. The range is characterized by steep, rocky peaks and deep, narrow canyons carved by intermittent streams. Elevations range from around 3,000 feet in the foothills to over 6,500 feet at the highest summits. The terrain is primarily composed of granitic rock formations, with sparse vegetation including chaparral, oak, and pine trees. The Volcan Mountains are part of the Peninsular Ranges of Southern California and are considered an extension of the Laguna Mountains to the north.
